Social picnics in Paris

A park full of blankets, each one with something to do.

We take over a stretch of grass and every blanket has a different thing going on: paint a small canvas, sketch a stranger, pull a Jenga block, grab the mic. You drift between them at your own pace. The MEGA edition happens at Trocadéro.

The Format

What to expect

  1. Step 1

    Find the blankets

We claim a spot in a park and make it easy to find. Look for the biggest patch of blankets on the lawn.

  2. Step 2

    Drift between activities

Each blanket is a different thing to do: painting, sketching a stranger, board games, sometimes a mic. Moving between them is the whole format.

  3. Step 3

Stay as long as you like

No schedule. People come for an hour and stay for four. Expect questionable portraits and a few unexpected duets.

Questions

Picnics FAQ

What should I bring?
Yourself, plus a snack or drink to share if you feel like it. The blankets and all the activities are covered.
Is it awkward to show up alone?
It’s the easiest event to come to alone. You sit down at a blanket, someone hands you a brush or a Jenga block, and you’re in.
What if the weather turns?
We update the event page. Big picnics usually move dates rather than venues.
